Special Council - Closed Session

That the Special meeting of the Council of the Township of Springwater of April 1, 2026 come to order at 5:05 p.m.

That in accordance with Section 239 of the Municipal Act , 2001, the Corporation of the Township of Springwater does hereby resolve to move into Closed Session at 5:05 p.m. for discussion pertaining to:  Litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board;  Advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose. Topics: Update - Third Party Notice of Claim/Demand Letter Update - Notice of Application for Judicial Review Legal Advice - Barrie Soccer Club Loan Guarantee Agreement

That the Council of the Township of Springwater does now rise from Closed Session at 5:23 p.m.

That the confidential report from the Chief Administrative Officer regarding an Application for Judicial Review, dated April 1, 2026, be received; and, That staff proceed as directed in closed session.

That the confidential verbal update from legal regarding Legal Advice - Barrie Soccer Club Loan Guarantee Agreement, dated April 1, 2026, be received.

That the confidential memo from the Chief Administrative Officer regarding the Update - Third Party Notice of Claim/Demand Letter, dated April 1, 2026, be received.

That By-law 2026-022 to confirm and adopt the proceedings of Council at the Special Meeting held on April 1, 2026 listed herein be signed and sealed by the Mayor and Clerk.

That the Special Meeting of the Township of Springwater does now adjourn at 5:25 p.m. to meet again in a Regular Meeting on April 1, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
