Whereas Sharewear provides free clothing to community members, including those in need, newcomers to Canada, and individuals facing financial hardship by alleviating clothing expenses. Whereas Sharewear helps residents direct their resources towards essential needs like rent and food; and, Whereas charitable organizations like Sharewear play a vital role in our community by addressing critical needs, which improves the overall well-being of Township of Springwater residents; and Whereas Sharewear has requested the use of the Elmvale Community Hall on April 4th and 5th, 2025 to raise awareness and community support for Sharewear; and Whereas the rental fees associated with the use of the Elmvale Community Hall could represent a financial burden to Sharewear as a volunteer-run non-profit charity, rental fees would significantly impact their ability to fundraise and maintain services. Now Therefore Be It Resolved That the Council of the Township of Springwater hereby approves the one-time waiver of rental fees for the use of the Elmvale Community Hall by Sharewear on April 4th and 5th 2025, subject to the terms and conditions of the facility's rental contract; and, That staff report back on amending the existing policy, A09-REC Service Club Meeting Fee Waiver Policy to include waiving rental fees for one off events for eligible service clubs who operate within the Township of Springwater.
