That the Committee receive the Building Permit Application for 2678 Crossland Road and provide the following comments back to the Building Department: The Committee notes that page 3 of the building drawings state: “Replace the damaged windows and door screen to reinstate pre-loss condition. The contractor must verify the window and door sizes on site prior to fabrication.” However, the report does not address the damaged windows or door screen. The Committee advises that the damaged windows and door must be replaced with a double-door configuration, and that the windows be restored in a manner that best reflects the Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee June 11, 2026 Page 2 of 9 property’s original designated heritage features - namely, circa 1900 double doors and two display windows with angled sills - to the greatest extent possible within the property owner’s means. The Committee requests that the formal Building Permit acknowledge that this is a heritage designated property. The Committee requests notification be provided back to the Committee following final repairs in order to evaluate the status of the property's heritage designation by-law.

That the Committee receive the Road Naming Request Letter for SU-2025-002 - 1200 Seadon Road as information and provides the following comments back to the Planning Department regarding Option 1: That research should be conducted to verify the veteran status of Lachlan Cameron; and That the Committee notes that should Option 1 be pursued, Cameron Court would be the preferable option, as use of the family name offers a more commemorative and neutral approach, particularly where there is uncertainty regarding the name by which the individual was known during his lifetime, and provides flexibility should additional historical information later emerge that makes direct recognition of a specific individual inappropriate; and That the Committee requests Staff advise if research will be conducted to verify the veteran status of the proposed Option 1 name.
