Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee

That this meeting of the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee come to order at 5:35 p.m.

That the September 14, 2023, Minutes of the Township of Springwater's Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee be approved as presented.

That the Township of Springwater's Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee receive the Springwater's Sports Heritage Board presentation.

That the report from the Deputy Clerk regarding prioritizing the listed properties on the heritage register, dated November 16, 2023, be received; and, That the Committee proceeds as follows: - Review a template letter to be presented by staff at the next meeting - Upon receipt of interest from the contacted property owners, the committee will prioritize the listed properties by determining those worthy of designation.

That the report from the Committee Coordinator/Administrative Assistant regarding the CHAC 2024 Work-plan, dated November 16, 2023, be received; and, That no more than four items be added to the active item list at any time; and, That the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee approves the addition of the following items to its active item work plan: 1.Prioritizing listed properties on the Heritage Register 2. Cultural and heritage related event 3. Staging the Hillsdale Jail and tour 4. Cultural Space in the Community Hub And that the Committee add the following items to the work plan for future consideration: 1. Promotions (investing in material and tent) 2. Review directories and update 3. Doors Open 4. Hear here 5. Citizen of The Year - recognition

That the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee, recommends Council consider incorporating a community space supportive of diverse groups and a variety of cultural-based activities in addition to a space highlighting heritage-related features and attributes in the community hub.

That the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee approves the 2024 meeting Schedule as follows: Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 - 5:30 p.m.

That the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee forward the Communications Officer the link providing information and dates for Ontario Heritage Week 2024 for consideration of an awareness-release or social media campaign in recognition of Ontario Heritage Week; and, That Chair Hale Mahon and committee member Donna Kenwell will be appointed to liaise with the Communications Officer in relation to the social media campaign.

That the November 16, 2023, meeting of the Township of Springwater Cultural and Heritage Advisory Committee does now adjourn at 7:37 p.m.
